The MRO Europe exhibition, taking place on 28–29 October 2026 at RAI Amsterdam, is Europe’s leading trade show and conference for the commercial aviation aftermarket. The event focuses on aircraft maintenance, repair and overhaul (MRO). At stand 5-941, Sonplas will highlight custom-engineered systems for testing components that carry fuel and hydraulic fluids as part of aircraft maintenance operations. For more than ten years, the company has been developing and implementing solutions for the aerospace industry, applying its experience from the automotive sector to the specific requirements of aerospace applications.
Sonplas’ aerospace solutions centre on test systems for pumps, valves, injectors, pressure regulators and manifolds. Because aerospace components are larger than their automotive counterparts, the test systems must also accommodate higher pressures and flow rates.
Sonplas develops its test systems in close collaboration with each customer. In many cases, the test procedures are specified by the component manufacturers. Sonplas translates these requirements into a suitable testing process with as much automation as possible. Depending on the application, the system can test a complete pump, individual components such as pressure relief valves or multiple assemblies. Different test methods can be combined as needed.
Based on customer-specific requirements and the applicable Component Maintenance Manual, the test systems measure flow, pressure and leakage. Liquid and air testing, calibration cycles, as well as blowout and flushing processes can also be integrated and automated. For fuel nozzles, Sonplas offers spray pattern test systems that measure the angle and width of the resulting spray.
For development and validation, Sonplas offers an in-house laboratory, feasibility analyses and product testing. Capabilities include functional and endurance testing of individual components as well as complete systems.
Simulating environmental conditions
Depending on the application, climatic chambers can be used to replicate real-world test conditions by simulating temperature, humidity and air pressure. Vibration testing can also be incorporated. For testing with hazardous media, Sonplas has an explosion-proof thermal chamber that enables highly dynamic temperature simulation. By inerting the chamber with a protective gas, non-explosion-proof test specimens can also be operated safely inside.
At the trade show, Sonplas will also highlight a versatile test system for main fuel pumps. The system can accommodate different pump models from multiple manufacturers and for various engine types, with flow rates of up to 650 litres per minute. Apart from a small number of manual steps, the test sequence is fully automated and follows the test specifications for each pump model. Sonplas also offers solutions for testing fuel pumps used in centre and wing tanks, with flow rates of up to 900 litres per minute.
Sonplas provides assembly and testing from a single source, seamlessly integrating both capabilities into its solutions. Customers benefit from an established network of carefully selected, reliable partners while working with a single point of contact throughout every phase of the project – from consultancy and development through to implementation.
