TestEquity, a global provider of test and measurement equipment, has announced its range of CE-certified environmental test chambers designed specifically for use in laboratory and production environments.

Developed to meet the requirements of the IEC 61010 standards series, the chambers support reliable validation of electronic components under controlled temperature and climatic conditions.

As development cycles shorten and performance expectations increase, environmental testing remains essential across industries such as automotive, medical technology and industrial automation. Temperature cycling and combined climate testing are critical processes in ensuring product reliability, compliance and long-term performance.

For engineering teams, the challenge is not simply achieving a particular test temperature but being able to reproduce demanding real-world conditions consistently while meeting increasingly stringent safety and compliance requirements. This is particularly important as products become more compact, electronically complex and expected to operate reliably across wider environmental conditions. Bringing environmental testing closer to the development process can also help identify potential failures earlier, before products move into certification or production.

Environmental testing requirements can vary significantly depending on the product being evaluated, available laboratory space, required temperature range and the speed at which test cycles need to be completed. Smaller chambers can support component and PCB-level development, while larger systems allow engineers to test complete assemblies or accommodate more complex temperature and humidity profiles. Cooling technology, transition speeds, workspace and connectivity therefore all become important considerations when specifying a chamber.

TestEquity’s CE-certified chambers are engineered to meet key European safety and compliance standards, including EN 61010-1:2010/A1:2019 and EN IEC 61010-2-012:2022/A11:2022. The flagship TE-1016H model also complies with the EMC Directive 2014/30/EU, meeting EN/IEC 61326-1, EN 55011 and CISPR 11 requirements for electromagnetic compatibility.

The portfolio spans chamber volumes from 19.8 to 453 litres, covering applications from compact benchtop testing to large-scale environmental simulation. All systems are designed to fit through standard double-door access (approximately 80 cm wide), simplifying integration into existing laboratory facilities.

At the compact end of the range, the TE-107-EX offers a 19.8-litre capacity with a temperature range of -42°C to +130°C. Designed for space-constrained environments, it provides precise control with ±0.5°C tolerance and typical short-term stability of ±0.2°C, making it suitable for testing small assemblies such as PCBs and sensors.

For mid-range applications, the TE-115A-EX-F and TE-115R-EX models each provide 43.9 litres of workspace and operate between -73°C and +175°C. Fast heating rates of up to 8.3°C per minute and rapid cooling performance support demanding test cycles. The TE-115R-EX additionally features a stackable design to maximise laboratory floor space, while integrated limit controllers enhance safety during unattended operation.

Bridging the gap between benchtop and floor-standing systems, the TE-123C-EX delivers 65 litres of capacity with cascade refrigeration for rapid temperature transitions. Its modular interior and reversible door design allow flexible configuration for a wide range of test samples.

For larger test volumes, TestEquity offers the TE-1007S and TE-1007C, both with 198-litre capacities. The TE-1007S uses single-stage refrigeration for temperature ranges between -35°C and +175°C, while the TE-1007C utilises cascade cooling to achieve -73°C to +175°C.

The TE-1016H represents the top of the range, with a 453-litre capacity and combined temperature and humidity control. Operating between -73°C and +175°C with humidity control from 10% to 98% relative humidity (±3% stability), it is suited to complex environmental testing scenarios, including combined climate simulations.

All floor-standing models are equipped with Watlow F4T controllers featuring Ethernet connectivity, enabling remote monitoring and control in modern laboratory and production environments.

TestEquity chambers are supported by a one-year parts warranty and a three-year labour warranty, ensuring long-term operational reliability. With CE certification aligned to European safety and EMC requirements, the systems are designed to support both development and manufacturing environments where regulatory compliance is essential.

By combining precise environmental control with certified safety standards, the TestEquity chamber portfolio enables engineers to validate products with confidence, from early-stage development through to full production.
For European R&D and production teams, CE certification provides an important distinction when specifying laboratory equipment, particularly where equipment must satisfy internal health and safety requirements as well as applicable European legislation and standards. Having compliant equipment available across a range of chamber sizes also allows organisations to match their environmental testing capability more closely to individual applications rather than adopting a one-size-fits-all approach.
Malcolm El-Tayeb – Head of Product Management Europe at TestEquity shared, “Our Environmental Chambers combine exceptional quality, reliability and performance with outstanding value. Every chamber is designed and manufactured at our facility in California, where our team takes immense pride in building each unit to the highest standards. That commitment to quality is perhaps best demonstrated by a story often shared by Larry Green, who leads our Environmental Chambers division. He proudly points out that the very first TestEquity chamber, manufactured more than 25 years ago, is still in daily operation today. Few endorsements speak more clearly about the durability and craftsmanship behind every chamber we produce.”
