TE Connectivity, a world leader in connectors and sensors, has received the Sustainability Excellence Award from Sustainability Leaders, recognizing the company’s global commitment to environmental and social progress through its One Connected World strategy.
Honouring TE’s One Connected World strategy, the flagship award acknowledges TE Connectivity’s strong legacy of corporate responsibility, consistently demonstrating transparency and long-term commitment to sustainability over more than a decade. Since 2020, TE has reduced Scope 1 and 2 greenhouse gas emissions by 80% and sourced 87% of its electricity from renewable energy. In FY2024 alone, TE diverted 88,000 metric tons of waste as part of its Zero Waste to Landfill journey and invested $1.8 million through the TE Foundation to expand access to STEM education for young women and underserved communities, building the next generation of innovators.
“Our commitment to our One Connected World strategy goes beyond ambition. It’s measurable change,” said Jim Tobojka, senior vice president of operations at TE Connectivity. “To this end, we leverage the close collaboration within our Integrated Operations Network, which connects our sites worldwide, expanding our efforts to reduce emissions through energy efficiency, a sustainable usage of natural resources, and aligning our supply chain with Scope 3 greenhouse gas reduction goals. We remain committed to empowering employees to take initiative and create meaningful impact in the communities we serve.”
TE Connectivity’s dedication to sustainability is anchored in a strong vision and clear objectives, driving progress across its global operations.
“Receiving the Sustainability Excellence Award affirms our ongoing commitment to sustainability,” added Holly Webdale, vice president of supply chain ESG and facilities. “Our vision is to lead with integrity and innovation to reduce our environmental footprint, aligning our operations with global standards and internal values to protect our planet and our business. We are focusing on three pillars: mitigating waste with smart actions, advancing solutions for sustainable water management, and powering a low-carbon future with smart energy solutions.”
About TE’s One Connected World Strategy
The One Connected World strategy guides and measures sustainability progress across four dimensions: products, people, planet, and governance. TE Connectivity has committed to the Science Based Targets initiative (SBTi) with the specific targets to reduce absolute Scope 1 and 2 emissions by more than 70% by 2030, based on a fiscal year 2020 baseline, and reduce absolute Scope 3 emissions by more than 30% by 2032, based on a fiscal year 2022 baseline. In April 2024, TE received SBTi validation for its near-term emissions-reduction targets.
