Shawcity wins 2018 National Excellence Award for Customer Service

The inaugural Safety and Health Excellence (SHE) Awards ceremony, hosted by Rory Bremner on 11th April at The VOX, Birmingham, saw an attendance of over 420 professionals from the safety, fire safety, security and facilities industries.

The winners were chosen by an esteemed panel of key industry figures who whittled down more than 150 entries to a shortlist of 75 entries across nine categories.

Award categories aim to cover all aspects of health and safety, fire safety and security and incorporate the long-standing British Safety Industry Federation (BSIF) Awards.

The BSIF Awards, which were judged live at The Health and Safety Event on 10-11 April 2018 at NEC Birmingham, were announced during the ceremony. Shawcity was one of only five companies to be awarded in the Customer Service category.

The panel of judges included Teresa Budworth (NEBOSH), Dr Bob Docherty (Institute of Fire Safety Managers), James Kelly (British Security Industry Association), Ian Moore (Fire Industry Association), Niall Rowan (Association for Specialist Fire Protection), Neal Stone (ex-British Safety Council), Rob Strange (ex-Institution of Occupational Safety and Health) and Colin Webb (Oxford University).

Shawcity’s managing director Neil O’Regan, who collected the award on behalf of the business, commented: “Obviously we’re delighted to receive a national award in recognition of the high standards of customer service we deliver, right across our business.

“Our whole team should justifiably be very proud of this achievement as it reflects the high level of commitment and dedication they put in to supporting our customers every single day.

“What makes the award extra special is that it was voted for by our customers themselves, which is the most positive endorsement that we’re doing well and fully supporting them for the lifetime of their instrument hire or purchase.”
