PowTechnology are delighted to welcome Ashraf Royalpet, who joins the company as a Customer Support Engineer! As well as system engineering experience, Ash recently completed a Masters in Automotive Engineering and was supported by the Siemens Connected Curriculum programme, which helps embed Industry4.0 skills directly into curriculums, so graduates have the most relevant skills to take smart solutions forward. Great news for PowTechnology and our customers!
Ash has a highly varied and evolving role. Initially this will include phone support, product testing, creating documentation, training customers and supporting our solution architects. You may have seen him on recent social media posts, but we took this opportunity to get to know him better.
” My Dad is an amazing role model. He’s a Senior Project Manager at Capgemini and he inspired me to pursue engineering, as it fulfilled my desire to be hands-on and purposefully creative and because engineering skills will always be in demand.
Creatively, I’ve always been influenced by the fictional character Tony Stark/Iron Man and the idea of building smart, practical tech that helps people!!
I first came across PowTechnology doing a placement for my Masters at GBSIOT in Birmingham. The business came over as truly innovative, across a variety of IIoT technologies and sectors, adapting to what customers need, rather than staying in one narrow niche. That was very attractive!
Our paths crossed again at an event held by the Siemens Connected Curriculum programme. I was impressed with PowTechnology’s genuine appetite to back young talent. Not every company gives graduates real responsibility. PowTechnology were willing to believe in me and give me the chance to learn fast and prove myself. That means a lot!
PowTechnology are also delighted that Ash is a finalist in the Industry4.0 stream of the forthcoming WorldSkillsUK competition. WorldSkills is a global movement of over 80 countries, that supports young people across the world via competitions-based training, assessment and benchmarking. The Industry4.0 stream focuses on the future of smart manufacturing and digital production systems.
Ash is competing with his creation, Automated Smart Hub (ASH). Great name!
Built to transform the way we interact with smart labs and industrial systems, ASH is a modular, intelligent assistant that blends voice, vision and AI to deliver real-time diagnostics, automation and control. It employs Python, Node-RED and OPC UA, with edge analytics for fast, explainable diagnostics and clear dashboards. The goal is earlier detection and obvious next steps for engineers.
Ash explained “I’m excited and focused! It’s a great way to learn from the best. Winning would mean so much to me – a real validation that a practical, diagnostics-driven approach really delivers impact and, of course, it’s a platform to contribute even more at PowTechnology!
When Ash is not working or tinkering with automation at home, he enjoys exploring the area around his new home and playing badminton.
