The Task
Premier Energy Storage offers fuel systems and energy storage solutions. Premier’s customer is the contractor responsible for emptying waste silos for Covanta Dublin Waste to Energy Facility. If the silos become full, the incineration process is forced to stop.
The Solution
Powelectrics’ loT kit was retrofitted to load cells on the silos, to feed hourly weight readings to Powelectrics’ MetronView cloud. High level alarms alert the waste management company when collection is needed and alerts if the unit has not reported, which could indicate a fault with the local cellular network.
The Result
Regular timely collection of waste ensures incineration activities are not stopped because silos are full. This increases productivity and profitability by reducing operational costs. The waste company can offer better service to Covanta.
