New ultrasonic flowmeter launched

Omega has introduced the FDT100 series, which comprises advanced-technology water flowmeters and uses transit-time ultrasonic technology in which the signal is transmitted and received alternately between two flow sensors.

The battery-powered transmitter determines the flow rate and is available as an integrally mounted display or a remote-mount version. Benefits include no moving parts, long-term stability and a wide measurement range, which means it is possible to not only measure water consumption but also monitor systems for water leakage. In addition, the flow rate or total flow can be displayed at the touch of a button. Applications are in commercial and consumable water
measurement, the company explains.
