cv9 New innovations from DJB Instuments UK LtdAs part of the Company’s continuous product development process, DJB have launched a number of new products in the first quarter of 2015, with many more planned during the year, all aimed at their growing Global customer base for R&D in all product sectors.

The most recent innovation is the low cost CV9 range of IEPE/Charge signal conditioning, ideal for use with 3 triaxial acccelerometers, the CV9 offers 9 channels of conditioning all packaged in a 1U high, 19” rack mountable chassis with BNC inputs and outputs mounted on the front panel for ease of access.

The CV9 is available in three versions:

  • CV9-V – offers IEPE signal conditioning for all ICP®/IEPE accelerometers and other sensors, with x1, x10 and x100 gain, selectable per channel and with variable current source internally selectable via jumpers from 2 to 20mA.
  • CV9-C – offers Charge signal conditioning with x1, x10, x100 gain via front panel switches, each channel can be selected independently for gain.
  • CV9-CV – offers both charge and IEPE/ICP® available per channel, each independently selectable enabling the unit to operate with a mix of IEPE and Charge channels. Each channel has x1, x10 and x100 gain with user selectable 2-20mA current source in IEPE mode.

All three versions also offer a multi colour LED indicator for short circuit/open circuit/correct connection for each channel as well as quick set up via front panel switches and universal BNC connectors.

djb accessories 009 New innovations from DJB Instuments UK LtdNeill Ovenden, DJB’s Managing Director, said of the launch…’Yet again DJB Instruments leads the way by producing products that reflect the needs of the market rather than following the trends of other suppliers. We still sell a significant proportion of charge output accelerometers but also see a general shift towards IEPE voltage output types, so a combined Charge/IEPE signal conditioner is ideal, in the world of accelerometers 9 channels makes more sense than 8 so we designed the unit to enable users to have 9 channel functionality within the same compact 1U chassis they will be used to.’

This first release will be followed shortly with a DC powered version and then a software controllable option.

The CV9 is joined by several new accelerometers:

AT/01 – The AT/01 is a miniature lightweight charge output triaxial accelerometer with a single 4 pin ¼-28UNF connector, at just 6.8 grams in an 11mm titanium cube body, it is ideal for use in applications requiring wide acceleration response and low mass, available with low noise triaxial cables for minimal tribo-electric noise effects.

a136 cropped comp New innovations from DJB Instuments UK LtdA/136 & A/36 – DJB is proud of its long and well established capabilities in the field of special product development. This is often in association with customers who require solutions to fill gaps and meet specific needs. Using this philosophy DJB were able to produce accelerometers to directly replace units currently in use by several of its customers who wanted a new supplier to fulfill their testing needs. Major UK and French customers are now using the new A/136 and A/36 triaxial multi connector, clip mounted accelerometers successfully with added features not previsouly available with competitor products including DJB’s unique high temperature IEPE 185°C sensing elements.

at11 New innovations from DJB Instuments UK LtdAT/11 – On similar lines to the A/136 development the AT/11 has been produced to replace existing competitor solutions whilst offering additional capability and ruggedness. With clip mounting on 5 of its 6 faces, the AT/11 IEPE triaxial accelerometer can be used with existing competitor clip installations for direct and immediate replacement, ideal for Modal testing it can be removed from its mounting and replaced numerous times for perfect repeatability. Having been successfully tested through a severe customer acceptance process which included being repeatedly dropped from 2m onto a concrete surface with no adverse affects to its performance or calibration, the AT/11 sets new standards in reliability and flexibility.

‘Our commitment to new technology development has been a major focus for us in the last couple of years…’ Neill continued ‘…and we are now seeing the fruits of our labours, in addition to mainstream development we have other exciting projects underway including wireless technology which will take us through the next couple of years.’
