A UK facility recovering critical materials from end-of-life EV batteries needed instrumentation that could handle highly corrosive chemicals and demanding ATEX requirements — without compromise.

VEGA’s BASIC series stepped up. VEGABAR 28 and 38 pressure transmitters now monitor scrubber systems, leach tanks, and pump health across the site, with ceramic measuring cells and PVDF wetted parts standing up to aggressive acidic media. VEGAPULS 21/31 radar transmitters add non-contact level measurement, keeping sensitive parts well away from harsh process conditions.

Commissioning was handled entirely in-house using the VEGA Tools App, with Backup and Restore making it easy to replicate settings as the operation scales.

The result? A trusted partnership and instrumentation now written into the plant specifications as the facility expands — part of a growing battery supply chain hub taking shape across Cornwall and Somerset.
