BEKA field mounting indicators now have US and Canadian certification

BEKA associates have recently received US and Canadian intrinsic safety and nonincendive certification for their new compact BA304G and BA324G 4/20mA loop powered field mounting indicators. These instruments, which already have IECEx and ATEX approval, feature a robust IP66 impact resistant GRP enclosure with an 8mm thick armoured glass window, but retain the easy to read displays from the larger models.

The BA304G has four 34mm high digits and the BA324G has five 29mm high digits plus a 31 segment bargraph. Both have a wide operating temperature of -40°C to +70°C and include a square root extractor, sixteen segment lineariser and internal calibrator. For no additional charge, instruments are supplied calibrated to customer requirements with a novel slide-in scale card showing the units of measurement and tagging information.

Accessories include a backlight that may be loop or separately powered, dual alarms with isolated solid state outputs, stainless steel legend plates and a pipe mounting kit.

For applications in Zone 2 the BA304NG and the BA324NG, in addition to IECEx and ATEX approval, now have AEx nA certification for use in the USA and Ex nA certification for use in Canada. This permits installation without the need for Zener barriers or galvanic isolators which significantly reduces installation cost. General purpose non certified models are also available.
