Anders has launched DRAGONEYE™ – IP65 ROTARY, a rapid HMI development platform built on the high performance, low-power STM32U5 microcontroller and paired with a newly engineered high-resolution brushless encoder display with haptic feedback. It enables engineers to rapidly develop sealed rotary HMI products and transition them into production using a single scalable architecture.
The platform will be introduced at Embedded World 2026 in Nuremberg, on the STMicroelectronics stand (Hall 4A, Stand 148).
From Concept to Reality – Moving to Production Without Starting Again
Developing a rotary interface with graphical display typically requires significant engineering effort across multiple disciplines, including encoder sensing, firmware architecture, GUI rendering, mechanical integration, and environmental sealing. These challenges can add months of development time and introduce substantial project risk.
DRAGONEYE™ removes this barrier.
Built on the STM32U5 microcontroller and optimised for circular touch displays and rotary interactions, the platform provides developers with a ready-to-use environment for rapidly creating functional MVPs while maintaining a direct path to production through Anders’ engineering and customisation services.
A New High-Resolution IP65 Rotary Encoder
At the heart of the platform is a newly developed IP65-rated brushless rotary encoder, engineered in-house by Anders specifically for sealed industrial HMI applications.
The encoder features:
- Sealed high resolution IP65 construction for harsh environments
- High resolution 2.1” IPS-TFT
- Contactless sensing for long-life, wear-free operation
- Integrated capacitive touch capability
- Haptic feedback support for tactile interaction
- Can be customised for different display sizes
Together, the STM32U5 development platform and Anders’ rugged rotary encoder deliver a ready-to-run solution for rapid development of robust, production-grade rotary HMIs.

Built on the STM32 Ecosystem
DRAGONEYE™ leverages the full STM32 development ecosystem, allowing engineers to use familiar tools, libraries, and software frameworks while accelerating GUI and application development.
The platform is designed not only for rapid prototyping, but also as the foundation of a production system. Anders supports full customisation and optimisation, including:
- Application-specific PCB redesign and integration
- Mechanical and enclosure adaptation
- Rotary interface material and finish customisation
- Firmware optimisation and tuning
- Production scaling and lifecycle support
This enables customers to transition seamlessly from evaluation to a production-ready product manufactured by Anders.
The DRAGONEYE™ Platform
DRAGONEYE™ Rotary IP65 is the flagship member of the new DRAGONEYE™ platform – a scalable family of STM32 based HMI development systems designed to accelerate product development and enable a direct path to production.
The DRAGONEYE™ platform includes:
- DRAGONEYE™ Rotary IP65 – Sealed industrial rotary HMI platforms:
2.1”, (1.3” and 1.8” – launching later in 2026) - DRAGONEYE™ Rotary – Standard rotary development platform:
1.3”,2.1”,(1.8” – launching later in 2026) - DRAGONEYE™ Touch – CTP touch platforms:
2.1” circular, (4” square and 5” rectangular – launching later in 2026)
All variants share a common STM32 architecture, enabling customers to develop once and scale across multiple form factors.
Experience DRAGONEYE™ at Embedded World 2026
Visitors to Embedded World 2026 can experience the high-resolution sealed rotary interface firsthand on the STMicroelectronics stand (Hall 4A, stand 148) and see how DRAGONEYE™ accelerates development of production-grade HMI solutions.
