Monitoring, remote access and cloud connection for Siemens LOGO!, S7 and Modbus devices

Version 2.2 of the monitoring app for industrial routers and fault transmitters from INSYS icom, now enables transmitting measured values, events and alarms directly to the Cumulocity Cloud, one of the most efficient M2M application platforms for plant and process data visualisation.

INSYS icom, a technology provider for industrial data communication creates a direct transmission path to the Cumulocity Cloud via the monitoring app’s configuration screen. The app is an INSYS firmware, suitable for intelligent monitoring of control systems such as Siemens LOGO!, Siemens S7 or Modbus devices. All available measuring values can be created directly in the app and are then available in the cloud for diagrams and lists without any need for further configuration. Data can also be processed using definable rules.

Follow-up actions for events and alarms are possible as well. Self-scaling diagrams facilitate data visualisation. INSYS devices also allow simultaneous monitoring of several control systems and transmission of data to multiple cloud accounts at the same time. Furthermore, setting up different user groups in Cumulocity enables distributed access to user-specific views. If Cumulocity is inaccessible, values are processed or temporarily stored by the integrated Linux Sandbox. INSYS field devices come with either a fault transmitter solely for monitoring or a powerful industrial router for additional fast remote access. All devices feature a consistent user interface, superior reliability, great usability and IT security.

INSYS icom offer the INSYS Connectivity Service as an additional VPN service option for secure remote access. If an INSYS icom router is replaced, the new device keeps the ID and settings of its predecessor. No reconfigurations or new setup of visualisation screens are required. The same applies to configurations of the monitoring app, which can be simply cloned to other devices, especially to save time in scenarios with a great number of routers. The complete solution, including communication device, monitoring app, VPN service and cloud, is available for a free trial period of four weeks. Further information can be found at www.insys-icom.com/monitoring-app.

Cumulocity is a new member of INSYS icom’s competence network  Excellence in M2M. ”Cumulocity’s cloud service offers customers an excellent and economical solution for visualisation, easy processing and configuration of their data,” said Heiko Noll, product manager at INSYS icom.
