Jacqueline Balian joins GAMBICA as laboratory technology sector head

GAMBICA has announced the recruitment of Jacqueline Balian as its new sector head for the laboratory technology sector.

Jacqueline Balian

Jacqueline has been tasked with developing the value of Gambica membership, in line with the organisation’s strategy of:

  • providing concise information, statistics and market reports to help Gambica members plan future strategy;
  • helping members develop their business by giving real assistance with exporting, overseas events and media campaigns;
  • developing a community of members and stakeholders who share knowledge and best practice; and
  • influencing policy, standards and regulation for the benefit of the industry.

Jacqueline has previously held roles at representative bodies including the British Institute of Facilities Management and the Chartered Institute of Building. She also has experience in sustainability and carbon management having had senior roles at OFGEM, which operates a number of the UK Government’s green schemes, and at the Chartered Institution of Building Services Engineers.

Jacqueline commented: “It is hugely interesting to come to Gambica at this pivotal point, when the laboratory industry is growing quickly but faces a number of challenges and significant uncertainty. As well as continuing to support GAMBICA’s existing member companies, I aim to increase the representation of the broader laboratory technology industry in the UK.  The lab tech sector is one of the country’s good news stories and I aim to make it my business to ensure that even more people recognise that.”
