Exhibition space at SPE Offshore Europe 2023 nearly sold out

Exhibition space at SPE Offshore Europe 2023 (OE23) is nearly sold out at P&J Live, Aberdeen where the 50th anniversary edition is being held from 5-8 September 2023.

“All three exhibition halls are between 96% and 99% sold out,” said Jonathan Heastie, Portfolio Director – Energy & Marine at RX, co-organiser with the Society of Petroleum Engineers (SPE). “To sell-out the original floor plan is an exciting endorsement of Offshore Europe’s role in communicating the latest offshore and energy transition developments. We can add one more aisle of space if needed but we are looking towards a sell-out event.”

More than 800 companies and organisations will exhibit at SPE Offshore Europe with operators bp and Shell and major service companies such as SLB, Wood and Aker Solutions among those taking stands. More than ten pavilions will feature groups of exhibitors from countries and industry organisations from around the world including Western Australia, China, France, Norway and USA.

UK Government Minister of State for Energy Security and Net Zero, the Rt Hon Graham Stuart MP is to speak at the opening plenary which will kick-off the conference programme at 10.00am on Tuesday 5th September. Other plenary speakers are Kamel Ben Naceur SPE Offshore Europe Conference Chair, 2022 SPE President and CEO of Nomadia Energy Consulting; Gilad Myerson, Executive Chairman, Ithaca Energy; Gordon Birrell, Executive Vice President, Production and Operations, bp; Chris Weaton – Managing Director, Oil & Gas Stifel; Kjetel Digre, President and Chief Executive Officer, Aker Solutions; Jarand Rystad, Chief Executive Officer, Rystad Energy;  Stuart Payne, CEO, North Sea Transition Authority; Dr Katharina Beumelburg, Chief Strategy and Sustainability Officer, SLB; Maria Claudia Borras , Executive Vice President, Oilfield Services and Equipment, Baker Hughes.

Jonathan Heastie added: “It’s been four years since the last physical Offshore Europe and there is a lot of energy among the exhibitors and organisers to reconnect in Aberdeen and push forward on the topics driving the industry. There will be several new show floor zones and theatres this year reflecting the evolving nature of the industry.”

Towards NetZerOE is a new colour-coded trail which will highlight exhibitors across all three halls who have a relevant solution to help accelerate the transition to net zero. Visitors can also scan QR codes on the exhibitors’ stands to take them to relevant information online.

The EIC will host a Collaboration Theatre which will examine the collaborative efforts of industry stakeholders to address targets and achieve set goals. Interactive sessions will discuss collaborative experiences across the supply chain on topics including Women in Energy, Addressing the Skill Gap, Decarbonisation Strategies through Technology, Driving Offshore Diversification and Integrated Energy Systems.

A series of Offshore Europe Talent Investment and Diversity Events (TIDE) will bring together programmes across the conference which share the common goal of supporting the future generations of the energy industry. Sessions will include events for school pupils, university students, young professionals and those outside the industry interested in joining the sector.

An Offshore Wind Theatre which will host discussions on the role of offshore wind in the changing energy landscape and a Hydrogen Hub which will showcase hydrogen technology and know-how helping the acceleration to a cleaner energy future.

A Future Opportunities Theatre will provide free learning and insight on current and upcoming opportunities in late life and decommissioning of offshore assets, and emerging decarbonisation activities including deep geothermal energy and CCUS.
